Just wanted opinion on what you all think what is better Roadmaster or Blue OX Just ordered a new 2023 Grand Cherokee L Summit. I currently have a roadmaster set up. Also anybody have any Dealers in the Indio or La Quinta area that you have used?

Both Brands seem about the same.
Blue Ox puts rubber boots over the part of the bar that extends while Roadmaster don’t. For that matter don’t think any other brand has boots. Makes me think it is marketing hype.
Had a Blue Ox that aged out. Replaced with a Roadmaster mostly because it would arrive soonest and I was on a short timeline.
As for dealers for the towbars – Amazon or etrailer.com both will sell a bar that will work with almost any baseplate

Having had both, I prefer the Blue Ox. We have had it serviced and serviced it ourselves as well as replacing them every 100-150K miles. Never failed, just seemed like a safety issue. The latest unit we have simply never binds even when the towed is not nice and straight behind us. Service only requires sliding the boots back, cleaning well with WD40 and then cleaning away the WD40 with dry silicone spray. Reattach the boots and you are good to for several years. We had had our new tow bar for 3 years and having felt any kind of binding that would make me think I needed to do it again.
Do they make a base plate for the new Jeep? What does that beast weigh?

Sid, I have used the Blue Ox brand Tow Bar for 20+ years with no issues. This is a Ford vs Chevy conversation.

Be sure to read my caution warning post on 21-22 Jeep Grand Cherokee posted under towing. At same Jeep store repairing mine there is another 21-22 grand Cherokee that the parking brake activated causing major damage. Jeep disclaims warranty. Mine is going a way as soon as it is fixed
