Is there anyone that makes a wiring harness for a 2017 GMC/Chevrolet truck that is just plug in without splicing?

I wouldn’t think anyone offers a plug and play wiring harness for a toad because, you have to wire into the existing tail light wires for running lights and brake/turn signals and, it’s best to put Diodes on each wire to prevent voltage feeding back into the vehicle.

As the Beach Boys (or Brian Wilson and Al Jardine) sing so elogently … “Wouldn’t it be nice!” … if the car manufacturers put a universal plug or a junction box in cars and truck that would easily allow a nice guy like Jack to easily wire his truck to pull behind his coach. I realize the argument against doing that is such a small percentage of the cars and trucks built are actually pulled behind a motor home or motorcoach.

I had started looking a couple of weeks ago and had found everything that all responded to but hoped that someone knew something that I did not,but that was not the case,so I purchased a Hopkins generic wiring kit.

Thanks for starting this discussion and for everyone that has contributed. I purchased the harness for our 2015 Yukon, it was not available when we first purchased the vehicle. I had been using the wireless tow-mate light and it attached magnetically to the roof. As a result it was not very visibile. Safety safety safety.

Could you use something like this to save you from having to cut up your factory harness?

Not exactly plug and play, but better than hacking up a brand new truck if you have no other option.

My 2012 Jeep had a factory accessory wiring harness that pluged in behind the glove box and routed through the firewall to a 4 prong plug by the front grill. Worked great.
A factory plug and play up front under the hood would be great.

I just put a Blue Ox tow bar on and used their wiring harness. It plugged into the existing harness without having to drill holes for new lights in the back.
