2015 Ford F150 4×4 Toad
We are working to complete the setup for our 2015 Ford F150 4×4… we are using Roadmaster components… we have a couple of questions for anyone using this vehicle…
- Do we need a battery cut out switch with the keyless push button start?
- Does the truck acrue miles during tow?
- Does the key-fob have to stay in the vehicle?
- Can the vehicle be locked during tow?
(I could not find such information in the owners manual)
If you have such a set up photos of the location for lighting and air connections on the toad would be appreciated… they can be emailed to us.

We tow our ’13 F150 all the time. It’s simple to set up. Place it in neutral, leave your foot on the brake, turn the 4 wheel drive selector from 2 wheel to 4 Low four times in five seconds, you will enable tow mode. (should show on display) Leave it in neutral, Turn off the ignition and leave the key in. We just lock the door with the keypad. I’m not sure about the keyless setup.
The truck will not record the miles.

THANKS… Jackson, we have been towing a 2001 F150 4×2 with a drive line disconnect for the past 5 years.
The 2015 is a complete model change… it does not have an ingition key. Therefore, it is not equipped with a locking steering column. Getting truck into neutral to tow was a simple process explained by the owners manual. Just looking to see that the truck is also not going to run the battery dead during tow.
Could you post or email a photo of your lighting and braking connections location on the front of your 2013 Ford.

Dealer (service department) should know that one about battery drain. I would say no. On my 2013 ford f150 there is no drain. Had it wired at shop for pass though lights. No brake system and with jakes on coach haven’t really needed extra braking but then again I’m running flat ground most of the time here in texas.
Thinking about upgrading to 2016 when they come out as they say the new aluminum bodies are quite a bit lighter.

We recently started towing a 2015 F150 4wd using the blue ox towing system and the air force one braking system. Very easy hook up with the blue ox and the F150. Follow the instructions in the manual. We did not need a battery disconnect with the push button start, miles do not accrue on the truck while towing, the key for is in the coach with us and the truck is locked

THANKS for the info… all we have left is getting the truck wired for lights… Larry and Tina could you send/post a photo of the front of your F150… trying to see how others are making thier towing hook up / connections.

I just have a Blue OX set-up. Takes 5 minutes to have it ready to roll. We also are not using any AUX braking, we have been through the Rockies, through Utah and Cali with no problem braking. I actually installed a LED light strip that goes between the bumper and tailgate, ran a flat 4 harness along the frame from the back to the front with 6 extra feet that I store in front of the radiator, I just unwind it and plug it into the 6 to 4 adaptor on the bus and I have lights! I guess it’s OK, never been stopped for inadequate lights.

Okay… truck set to tow… went for a test run before heading to warmer weather.
Everything seemed to work just fine… but sometimes the alarm (horn) would sound sometimes it would not… any suggestions?

What alarm sound? Bus or truck.

The truck thinks it is being stolen/towed away … which it is.
There are two ways to arm the 2015 F150: Level 1- use key in door lock; level 2 use remote.
Level two will set off the tow away alarm, so just arm it with the key only.

On my 2015 when you set up the alarm you can select perimeter only or perimeter and motion sensors.
The motion sensors is what sets it off.
