  • Poor voltage issues – genny problems?

Posted by Tully on July 17, 2015 at 9:12 pm

When I run my genny and power to coach kicks in- my one voltage meter shows ZERO voltage. The other meter pegs out at 150 plus volts. Thus resulting in no power A/C to bus. Everything works fine when shore power.

    Any ideas?

I had a similar issue recently with my coach. I had 140 volts on one leg and 0 on the other. Was causing havoc on electrical system. Problem turned out to be a bad ground on one leg. The ground directly coming out of the gen set on one leg had connector corroded and that ground was floating. This was inside the control box on gen set. I spliced it back, crimped on new connection, reconnected the ground and everything went back to normal.

    Hope this helps.
