  • Generator shutting off

Posted by Craig on April 30, 2022 at 7:08 pm

My Martin generator has been fully serviced. Ew oil, filters, thermostat. For some reason when I start it, it runs for 15-20 minutes and then shuts off. The coach has a half tank of fuel and I can figure out why it keeps shutting off.
    any ideas?

    Adequate oil? Coolant?

Call Martin. They have been very supportive of their products.

Did it start acting up after the service?

Coolant or Oil would be my 1st guess.

    2nd might be clogged filters

Could be a bad/intermittent electric fuel pump.

Our Martin generator with a Yanmar engine will automatically shut itself down for low oil pressure, high coolant temperature according to the manual. It takes about 15-20 minutes to get up to operating temperature.
