Obituary — with Peter touching so many people across the country — I thought I would post the obituary here — it can be shared where needed… thank you

Peter Allister Campbell, 53, passed away unexpectedly, March 22, 2017 in Monroe County, Vonore, Tennessee.

Peter was born March 17, 1964 in Banff, Alberta, Canada. Peter was a professional horseman, traveling North America for over 30 years helping students to learn and understand the mental and physical aspects of the horse. “Horses have no use for clocks; time limits are purely for the benefit of the people” Peter Campbell.

He became a student of the horse at the young age of 12 working around the horses, packing, guiding and driving teams into the mountains of the Banff National Park. He furthered his career by cowboying across Western United States and Canada for prestigious ranches such as the A7 and Gang Ranch. His search for helping the horse became very clear after meeting Ray Hunt and then his friend and mentor Tom Dorrance. This is where he began his life long journey of helping horses and students unite with their equine partners to create a “Willing Partnership”, a phrase Peter coined in 1998. Along with his teachings, he authored a 10 part DVD Series called “Willing Partners” and a book, Peter Campbell Talks Horses.

He is survived by his wife Trina (Morris) Campbell of Wheatland, Wyoming; his aunt, Glenys Campbell; his brother and wife, Bruce and Kim Campbell; nephew and wife, Andrew and Remy Campbell; nephew. Brandon Campbell; niece and husband, Megan and Lorne Davey; nephew, Liam Morris; niece, Kash Morris; niece, Dakota Morris; great nieces, Cassidy and McKenna Campbell; great nephews, Walter and Wade Davey.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Audrey (Stone) Campbell; uncle, Bruce Campbell.

A memorial will be held from 2-5pm, Saturday, April 15, 2017, at the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel, Van Horne Room, Banff, Alberta. Scott Hardy and Robb Grundy will officiate.

If you’d like to show support, you may send flowers to Simply Creative in Wheatland, Wyoming.

    Jeff,

Thanks for posting the info for Peter. I know it is very difficult for you.

Do you know if there is any charity we could send a donation to on behalf of Peter in lieu of flowers?

Would it be better if all of us PC members ordered a set of Peter’s DVD’s?

Sorry to hear Jeff, and all of Peter’s friends and family.

I did not know Peter personally, but had many conversations with him on the forum. He was always nice, prompt, and very knowledgeable, and always willing to help.

He will be missed by all.
