  • Replacing fridge help

Posted by Richard on July 9, 2026 at 8:21 pm

I am having to replace my fridge in my 89 Marathon. I am in Mooresville, NC and was wondering who I can contact and / or how this is typically accomplished? I have read that one side of the windshield has to be removed to get the old out and the new back in, then the windshield is re-installed. My question surrounds types of services y’all have used to help get this done? I have located a replacement, and would like to use that one as the replacement.

    Thanks

I don’t mind the fridge part, and I have strong bodies, I just don’t know the windshield side of it.

Is there anything I need to be aware of on that part? I can’t leave it open once the removal and change out is started.

You can also call an auto glass company to come out. Have everything ready to come in and go out. They remove the windshield and you take out the old fridge. Put the new fridge in the coach and let the glass company reinstall the windshield. You can do the install at your leisure.

They come out very easy if you are not replacing the gasket. If your bus is like mine, there is a rubber cord you can remove and the windshield will come right out.

Hmm, I will call a local glass place tomorrow.. And yes, it has the cord in the center of the gasket.

    Thank you

It’s easy, just use liquid dish soap like dawn around the window and on the cord when you reinstall it.
