Difference Between Prevost And Le Mirage
All,
Excuse my stupid question. What is the difference between a Prevost and a Le Mirage? Difference between Prevost XLII and Le Mirage XLII? I see Le Mirage on the side of some coaches that have a Prevost name plate. Thank you in advance for the education.

For years the X coaches have been called Le Mirage. The orignals were forty feet and were Le Mirage XL (roman numerals for 40).
When the 45 was introduced it was an XLV (roman numerals for 45)
My XLII carries Le Mirage badging so Prevost in 2006 has continued the brand. I have no idea if they are still doing that on X3 coaches.

Prevost Le Mirage designation ran from 1976 to 2005. The new stainless shell is known as X3-45

The technical answer is as follows: If you see a bus in the French desert it is Le Mirage. Otherwise it is just a Prevost.

That’s Somewhat of a half-baked answer there Loc. What if the bus is here in the US and the owners are enjoying Eggs Benedict? Or Quiche?

Difference Between Prevost And Le Mirage
The real difference is the 2000 model sitting on your driveway is a Prevost, the 2020 you wanting sitting in your driveway is a LeMirage.

Thanks for the comments about the subject. Happy with the 07 Marathon XLII. A 2020 Prevost is just a figment of my imagination.
