Pressure Pro Saves the Day
Got a call from a friend to tell me the Pressure Pro saved his bacon. Was north bound on I-95 and got a tag alarm. Got off the next exit and by the time he was stopped, the tire was almost flat. Picked up a big bolt while on the road. Michelin road service took care of him and he was on his way again.
This scenario is what I keep yacking about. A road hazard happens and without the Pressure Pro, you won’t know until there are big problems or you catch it at the next stop, but too late, the tire is toast anyway..
I don’t care what TPMS you use, but at least get one…..

I will echo what Tom said above. The fastest way to destroy a tire is driving on low pressure and the best way to know pressure is dropping is with a TPMS.

Is there any plans for Pressure Pro to begin using a “flow thru” sensor?

I like my Pressure Pro because I never have to check air pressures, it does it for you.
A great piece of mind while driving to be able to monitor pressures and temps. Alerts you if something is wrong.

I was using a different brand of TPMS which had flow through sensors and needed an antenna to be able to read my tag tires. I purchased a Pressure Pro Pluse from Tom and absolutely love it. If all the pressures and temperatures are where they are supposed to be then the display is blank. I’ve been told that there is going to be a software update that will leave the display on all the time. My issue with the the flow through sensors is that the ones I had had a hard time with the valve core in the sensors pushing the tire valve core. It’s just not a big issue for me to remove the sensor to fill the tire.
Tom is a great source to purchase the pressure pro system.

I don’t think I’m going to have to read too many more of these Pressure Pro success stories before I pull that trigger. I wonder if there is going to be an upcoming “sale” on the Pressure Pro systems.

I have the latest model Pulse and because I was one of the first with the newer sensors with a tighter range for the displayed temperature I found some issues which have been resolved.
All of this will get the final test when we travel to Oysterfest but I am sure that is going to be confirmation about what we already know for the antenna and antenna mounting and placement. According to my logs (the device retains logs) Ihave good signal strengths and the issue once the new antenna was installed was related to the extensions used on the 365 wheels.
The latest Pulse version has a couple of very good advantages over early models. Guys like Dick who might tow multiple toads (or a trailer and a toad) will benefit greatly because you can have multiple toads and for the trip it just requires you select what is being towed. You do not have to mount and reprogram sensors every time you trade towed vehicles among those you pull. The second benefit is the temperature feature. While it does not actually measure temperature if has a means of calculating the temperature accurately enough so you can be made aware of something that is causing excessive temps such as a dragging brake or bad wheel bearing. If you have low tire pressure which also causes a rise in temperature you will get a pressure alert first.
I have a calibrated digital pressure gauge that I have used for years. I have had it tested against a master gauge at a large tire company and when I have filled and checked my tire pressures with it I am always the same as or within one pound of my Pressure Pro sensors. I have rechecked pressures enough times now using my gauge to compare to the Pressure Pro and whatever concerns I had regarding accuracy are gone.
After Oysterfest when I am 100% confident in my antenna placement I will make a post and let everyone know what I did as far as routing and attachment. Right now this is important because the newest sensors need a new type antenna compared to previous versions and on the XL models the stainless steel skin makes placement somewhat critical. Feedback seems to indicate there are no issues with the H3.

Thanks so much for the offer Geo! I appreciate your generosity. But having having a Liberty and pulling a Bravo trailer, I want only the best for the best and plan on going with all the latest and greatest once Jon puts his stamp of approval on the Plus system, fancy monitors, and booster system.

No booster, but an antenna that needs to be run under the coach. Completely different way to get signals to the receiver.

I just did a 1,400 mile round trip with the new Pulse and had zero issues. As Jon pointed out, the external antenna is the answer. I ran the antenna through the steering bay, over the front fender well and along the underside of the bay doors. I used cable fasteners and silicone to secure the cable which is 40′ long.The antenna is back about the third bay and mounted to the Gen exhaust bracket and grounded. No the exhaust does not create a heat issue for the antenna. Hopefully one day Pressure Pro will come up with a new Repeater that can communicate with the new dynamic sensors and an external antenna will no longer be needed.
This is is my antenna, the garage floor is white, so don’t be confused with the pic. There is plenty of ground clearance at the antenna, the pic is deceiving.

On our XLII I mounted the antenna behind the dash below the window shade switches. Easy to do. I mounted the repeater under the bed on the forward facing surface of the bed platform and plugged it in under the bed. I mounted the Pulse display with Velcro on the dash just below the DDEC display. So, all the goodies are inside and have worked flawlessly for a year. But, then again, I have slides and I’m not a ‘techie’.

It’s working well with that setup Doug because you have the old style sensors. If you had the new style Dynamic sensors, the Repeater wouldn’t communicate and you would have to go to the external antenna.
