guys what temp does your series 60 run??? My front gauge is reading 212 degrees and the rear gauge is reading 220. The rear gauge was just installed at the Prevost garge. Seems a little hot to me. Thoughts???

That is way to warm. Most Series 60 come with 190* t stat installed. I think it fully opens around 197 or 198, not positive on that. Mine runs around 192-202 depending on ambient temp, terrain etc, after about 203 fan kicks on and cools it down.

Something else is wrong if you have temps that high without special conditions, i.e. hot weather, long pull up a grade etc.

Ditto. The first thing I would do is insude the fan clutch is functioning. At that temperature the fan clutch should be locked up. Verify that is the case.

If you lock the fan, take it for a test drive. At that point you will see the coolant temps cycling at the thermostat operating temps as stated above. With the fan clutch locked if you still are seeing those high temps the problem is likely a bad thermostat or radiator. If it is either of the two my guess would be the radiator.

Forgot to mention Tony, if you don’t have spare relays that you can break the tabs off of, stop by the house and I can give you a couple of spares I have.
