Cricket Electric Cart
Anyone have any experience or knowledge about the Cricket Electric Cart?
Looks like an easier and lighter option than a standard golf car. Cricket

Truk, thanks for the AAP thought, but about the Cricket Cart, what happened to your bikes?

Sold the Hog, but still have the bicycles. The bikes will still go on the rack on the back of the Avalance since the Criket would fit with the tailgate up. I wouldn’t carry the Criket all the time, just when we’re going to be in places where a golf car would make sense.
They have been making these for some time, but I haven’t actually seen one, so I was hoping someone had information about whether they’re good or not.

Tom – as you know, we bought the Wheels To-Go miniature golf cart that rides in our front bay. (You were kind enough to let us have it shipped to your truck dock). We absolutely LOVE it and get numerous compliments and comments on it everywhere we go – people are just fascinated by it for some reason!
Attached are a couple of pictures from when we first got it (without the rear seat attached). The seats come off and the sterring column folds down to fit nicely in the bay. Here is the address of the Wheels To-Go website if you want to explore: http://wheelsto-go.com .

I called Wheels To Go to inquire about a cart like Michael’s. Really nice and knowledgeable guy on the phone. All US-made components and all the machining and assembly done right there at the factory, I think on Ohio.
The downside is price. I think the base price is $5,500, and options go up from there. This is a sideline for the company, and they do not sell many.
I still like it. Maybe we could get a few members together and do a group buy.

I’m going to talk to the Cricket poeple and see if anything can be worked out. It looks like the Wheels to Go is better made than the Cricket and both have their negative and positive features. In my situation, I have a limited amount of length in the Avalance with the tailgate up, so the Wheels to Go wouldn’t work for me. Here’s a rough comparison:

Referring to the picture of Vita driving the cart onto the joey bed: Once it gets to this point, we simply fold the steering column down and then push the joey bed back into the bay. We chock the wheels to keep the cart from moving back and forth under the bus and then we’re good to go!
Oh – and the beer cooler isn’t shown in these pictures (we just strap it onto the rear seat when in use).
I think we paid about $4,500 for ours.
