Is everyone on the road for Thanksgiving?
In last 48 hours there has only been a couple post on any topic. I guess everyone is on road driving to their Thanksgiving destination or busy plucking the turkey and making stuffing, pumpkin pies, gravy, green beans, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, slicing the cranberry sauce, and whipping up the whipped cream to go on top.

I’m pretty sure travel in our coaches is safe. Very safe.
It is socializing that spreads the virus. We escaped house arrest by recently traveling to New Orleans and Orange Beach AL. We enjoyed the change in scenery, enjoyed the local food, delivered to our coach so we could minimize contact with others, and were as secure in the bus as we could be. I doubt a plane, train or seated bus would be safe, but our bus certainly is as safe as we choose to make it.

Hello,
I am probably the most COVID carefull person there is…Items I do
1) Never go anywhere INSIDE unless I need groceries.
2) Always wear food service gloves when I fuel, grocery shop (cheap and easy on off)
3) Wear KN95 masks at all times if I do go to the grocery store
4) Take off shoes before entering home
5) Change cloths before entering my home
6) When outside at a fuel pump stand upwind of anyone else
7) Disinfect all grocery items
8) Mail sits in sun for a few hours, before bringing in house
9) All family members must wear KN95 masks when coming to our house.

BUT I feel our bus has been a god send, when weather allows we go to state parks weekly, ride our E bikes, Hike
I would recommend using you Bus to get out to nature….what a gift we all have

Travel in our bus was mostly “as usual” this year. We use it mainly in our drag racing hobby. There was a lull last spring then things got going again. We even took it back and fourth to our 2nd home near Leadville CO in Sept because we weren’t in a hurry to get there and back. Two nine hour days in the Prevost vs one sixteen hour day in the Denali. We don’t take it to CO every year.

It seems like once every few months everybody on PC decides to enjoy life offline for a few days. That’s quite irritating, so please knock it off!
I’m not traveling this weekend, but next week I’m off to Florida for a few weeks, with some OTR/heat work planned at Welch Industries on the way back. My 1984 Liberty Coach got six new Toyo M170 tires today. The 3-year-old Dunlop steers moved to the tag axle. Don’t look now, but she’s officially “zeroed out.”

We are traveling this week not because of Thanksgiving, but toward more work. We are thankful we are able to do it.
We have been on the road since the second week of August working as carefully as we can. We are 800 miles away from home so no going back for Thanksgiving. We are traveling 500 more miles west this week. In two weeks, we will point toward home in Ohio until Christmas.
We will probably eat tacos cooked on the bus for Thanksgiving and I will enjoy every bite! We certainly have so much to be thankful for! May God bless each of you on Thanksgiving!

I’ve made several trips in the coach this summer, Prevost service in Goodlettsville, ETLC service in Vonore and two relaxing trips to Lake Toxaway, NC…… not socializing much and very careful.
Just this week, I made it to the house in California taking 7 days (1,750 miles) and will be out west for a few months. Again, very little contact with humans. All of the RV parks had protocols in place to limit contact. I felt very safe.

“Like” for Chad’s “zeroed out” comment.
Well, we’re headed Indio for the month of January and Paso for February. I know things are different than any time before, we’ll deal, it’s going to be a helluva lot warmer there than here.
Full disclosure, as careful and as isolated we are here on the farm both Judy and I tested positive a few weeks ago. We let our guard down and attended our grandson’s high school football playoff game, pretty sure that’s where we got it. I had mild symptoms, aches, cough, and extreme fatigue, Judy was basically asymptomatic. (we all know she’s alot tougher than I am) We’re all good now.

Glad to hear you’ve recovered. Did Judy have to do the harvest by herself? Or were you able to struggle to the combine and carry your weight?

Glad to hear you are doing well…keep up posted how you are doing. Covid has not hit our family but I have a close friend who passed away last week.

Dick, we were all done, I was actually cleaning up and putting away the last combine when I started to feel like I had symptoms.
We’re great now, I had a little bit of what they call “longhaullers” where my endurance was affected. That’s all passed, and we’re back in high gear!
