Coach Insurance Options
Purchased our coach 10 years ago and had it insured with Nationwide and now with Safeco…started with agreed value in 2015 for $1,800…for last 3 years Safeco goes up 10% per year, I do not have any claims with, driver record – no issues, no accidents, renewal policy is now $4,500/year…trying to reduce the PIP cost from unlimited to a lesser value, policy cost goes up, our agent is worthless, Safeco agents are no help, they transfer you back to the servicing agent, circle closed, frustrating…
Options? Who are you using and any good experience?
BTW – policy is used for Michigan!

We use Progressive, Full timers policy.
Our agent is FCIS Insurance. 800-331-1520
Insurer is Artisan and Truckers Casualty Co. 800-876-5581
$1781/year, so far so good

Thank you Stephen, do you have insurance based on current coach value or agreed value?
Our coach is 2000 Marathon H3 – I insured to “agreed value” to replace the coach in case of being totaled – $180,000, which is probably more than is worth now, since the value cannot be determined by NADA.
I had Marathon issue a letter stating the value at that time…in order to get the policy approved.

Actual cash value for physical damage. I know it will probably go up when we get a newer coach later this week. We are “garaged” in Oregon.

Through AARP, we use The Hartford insurance with agreed value and pay $1800/yr. But that also includes our 3 other vehicles. We were not sure how they’d be with a claim, and unfortunately found out. They responded well and fixed everything back to original with no problems.
If your agreed value is 1.8 million, $4500, seems like a steal.

Not sure what make sense anymore for a 2000 Marathon H3, actual value or agreed value?
In Michigan looks like the only bus insurers are Progressive, Safeco and Foremost(this is out of hand on price), so only 2. I have AAA for all my other vehicles and home for last 35 years, they do not insure Prevost…

I’m not sure if it’s a typo or not, but if you’re a AARP member, you should be able to get Hartford insurance. I know different states have different carriers but was unaware that AAA insured vehicles. I thought they were more for roadside assistance.

AAA does vehicle/home/life insurance, road assistance is just another benefit…
