  • Where can I find new rear light lenses?

Posted by Harry on August 29, 2018 at 3:42 pm

I was looking at my rear lenses, on the bus that is, and some are pretty Smokey. I called Prevost and they don’t have them and mentioned the aftermarket but didn’t know where?

Do you guys know where I can get them and should I replace the bulbs with LED’s at the same time?

Don’t know. Just walked in from replacing a 1156 bulb in my running lights on back for an inspection sticker. Maybe one of these smart guys will tell us. Mine are still clear and good as my coach stays in the doghouse when i ain’t a using it out of the sunlight.

I searched high and low for replacement lens covers. Couldn’t find any, buffed mine out and after a couple years just replaced the entire assembly with LED lights. Much better and lenses are available for the newer style LED lights all day long.

I think Jeff (ETLC) has a couple sets in stock or can get some if needed. Good price and great upgrade for not only looks, but safety.

    Hey Guys,

I’ve done searches for Chrome Man and Chrome Depot and can’t find anything in Georgia… Do you have a web site and/or phone number?

OOPS, just saw the post about Chrome Depot being an advertiser, thanks!

If you cannot find your replacement lenses remove them bring them to a body shop and have them send them down all the way to 600 grit sandpaper then urethane clear them. They will look better then new.

Don’t spend your time polishing a turd. Contact Gill Johnson or Jeff (ETLC) and get the replacement LED setup. Polished lenses will only glaze over again and need replacement (or more polishing). Still doesn’t make up for the lack of actual lights behind the lens.

LED is the way to go, super bright and you can get replacements if you need them.

Both are plug and play. No modification, no fuss.

Gil installed his led tail lights on mine at clawfest 2018. Looks and functions very well. He also got me to buy the led high center brake light that flashes 5 times before it goes solid.

Harry, like Dan and Charles said, Gil Johnson rear LEDs, got mine Jan of 2017, $875 to my door, plug and play, easy install.

    Hi guys,

    Just thought I’d mention that I just heard from IBP Industries and they told me;

Tail Light Conversion Kit – Prevost XL w/Oval LED w/Wiring Harness (M3-00927) The price is $1900.00 for set of two in either Oval or Rectangular.

Hey Don, did I read your post correctly that you got an LED set of two for $875? That’s quite a price. Before doing anything I’m trying a recommendation I got from Jeff and see if I can clean them. I’m just not sure where I can get wolf-bain…

By the way Don, nice looking bus!

Harry I changed my out like Charles did and they were $875.00 to my door. Much brighter than factory, easy to install and can get replacement parts if needed. Oh and mine came from Gil also.

Mark and Charlies: Are those Gil’s newest version? Two amber, three red, and one white.

Are the amber for turn signals? Then when you apply the brakes all three red ones light?
