  • Fass Fuel System – Anyone use?

Posted by Ronald on April 30, 2021 at 9:22 am

I am curious as to whether anyone on PC uses a FASS Fuel System, or something similar? If yes, especially if you are a legacy owner with an 8V92 engine, I would like to understand why.

As the resident cynic I am troubled by the fact diesel engine manufacturers aren’t using such technology that increases power and the life of the engine. How dare those manufacturers ignore the need!

The last time someone advertised an engine fuel additive on here the claim was it removed all water, prevented algae, and gave a 15% improvement of mileage. I called BS on the claims, and on my nickel I bought the product and ran a test for 10,000 miles.

Initially the company was going to polish my fuel to show how much algae and water were in my bus. Since I never used additives they expected a lot of bad stuff in my fuel. None was found. So the claim of keeping my fuel clean could never be evaluated because my fuel was spotless.

I used the additive in the concentrations required over a 10,000 mile period. Since I had detailed records of every drop of fuel consumed by all my coaches and since I drive at a consistent speed I was able to compare performance in MPG using the additive with years of history without additives. Bottom line the claimed 15% improvement never happened. It was a false claim.

So now FASS is making bold claims but I could not see independent test results to support the claims. My attitude is if it makes you feel good, by all means install the system. But if you do try to do an evaluation under controlled conditions to verify or disprove the claims.

Perhaps some members can ask Detroit or Prevost if they evaluated the system and if not, why not.

BTW, I am in possession of a carburator that when installed will make a big block 427 cu/in Chevy motor installed in a heavy Caprice deliver 130 MPG. I had to stop trying to market it because all the oil companies were afraid it would hurt their sales and they threatened to hurt me. I’m sure you all believe me.

The prototype of that carburettor is probably sitting in some dead engineer’s safety deposit box.

As should be stated, that must be some kind of carb, and I want the car it goes into.
