  • Arizona Interstate 40

Just a heads up for anyone travelling eastbound on I40 through Arizona state to be aware of very poor road conditions. I have never seen or experienced an Interstate in bad shape as this……mine field of pot holes and exceptionally rough surface. I damaged the front end of my towed car and I am uncertain what damage I may have caused to my coach. I am on my way to Jeffs to have service done of my coach…….now my front end will be added to the list. Gotta love this life!

I went thru there about 3 weeks ago and lost 7 lug nut caps. I didn’t notice any damage to front end, but I did go to the dentist to get my teeth tightened.

Is there any reason to believe that westbound conditions are better? Linda

Flagstaff and west to Needles CA both directions are crap.

Agreed that both directions are really bad, especially in the mountains, but eastbound is the worst. In September I hit a hole so big it damaged the steering system on my tag axle. Drove it again in a car 3 weeks ago and it even worse now. I-10 is better, probably because it doesn’t see frost.
