The Great Outdoors RV Resort – Florida
Posted by June on January 30, 2017 at 9:00 pmAny thoughts on purchasing a place in TGO? We see that they have coach (Class A) areas only with a RV port with an executive suite and there are other areas with small homes with ports. We like the concept of the community, but would like some input – pros and cons.

If this is the same as the St. Lucie Motorcoach Resort, then I’ll chime-in and say that it’s a well kept community. The expansion area with the ability to add a coach house looks very interesting.

June,
We live at TGO and have been here for 13 years. We have owned 2 RV pads and 3 different homes. We love this place. The best thing you could do is come spend a couple of days here and check it out. The class A area with ports and suites is nice but a bit over priced for what you get. We have a lot of houses here with attached RV ports, some ports are open and some enclosed. The houses run between 230K to about $850K. There are also RV pads that run between about 40K up to $225K if they have a suite and have a cover over the rv. Just depends what you are looking for. We also have a very nice 18 hole golf course.
CONS: If you have or want motorcycles it will limit your choices. Like a lot of Florida we have an HOA that controls a lot of things here. So far the rules have not caused us any issues. The rules are mostly designed to keep the place looking nice.
if you would like to come visit we would be happy to give you the grand tour.

Andre, that photo of the new H looks good on your signature line. See you at the snot ball fest in Bella Terra.

We purchased a site with executive suite 2 years ago after renting in TGO for three years. We are very happy with the community. The people have all been very friendly and there are as many activites as you could want to get involved with. Great place to consider!

To all –
We appreciate everyone’s input. The forum is a great place to ask for information or help! We will definitely look into TGO further!

Donald and June,
Terri’s parents have been at TGO for years. Terri’s Mom has two lots in the class A only section and just
bought a house with a garage to fit her Prevost. Lots of great people at TGO.
Let us know when you are planning to be there.
We should be there the end of next month too.

Phil & Joanne were gracious enough to let us stay at their place last year!
We thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Would certainly consider TGO “when” we decide to purchase some property in the next couple years.

Our first visit to to TGO was in 1991. I think at the time it even had Jack Ecklunds(?) name associated with it. It was pretty new and not as developed as it is today. It was great then and just as great today.

It sounds like everyone has something positive to say about TGO! Maybe we could get a ‘Prevost Community’ only section started (LOL)!

Donald & June,
If you want a Prevost section, you may want to look at “Pelican RV Resort.” Visited with Al for an RV show during Clawfest and Prevost’s were in full force around the Resort.

Tim, Al, we just missed you, but next time…beverages are on me….at Pelican

We live in TGO and love it. We hate it whin we have to go somewhere and can’t wait to get back. There is so much to do here. This is our 3rd place in Florida, but it will be our last. LOVE IT HERE!
