Is it true?
Is it true you can check your tow vehicle’s lights by turning on your 4-way emergency flashers, if they flash on the tow vehicle, then all stop, turn, and tail lights are working?

When we pull the air brake knob, the brake lights on the coach come on. The towed brake lights are on too. The flashers just indicate the turning signals are working, right?

My 07 didn’t do it either when you pull the air brake.

But, in my case, when I’m by myself, I don’t have to run back to turn on the left and then right blinker if the flashers are indicating that my turn signals will work. Basically, it’s checking them both at the same time (if it works that way).

When you are by yourself you can initiate the light check procedure and then get out and walk around as your light cycle through their check. Am I right that a failed light will also show up in your message center as a fault?

Disagree, my 04 has the brake lights on any time the key is on and I hate it.
Anyone know how to disable the brake lights with the key on? I pulled a couple relays, but couldn’t get it off.

Jon, I have never run the ‘light check’ but now I’m wondering if a light was out on the toad, would the Prevost system recognize it. I’ll need to give it a try sometime.
Tom, I would think that Prevost could program your rear lights not to come on. I had to have Prevost reprogram the computer to disable the flashers when I put the coach in reverse.
Since we have the side camera’s and when I would put the coach in reverse, the backup camera would switch from left, right and rear on the camera. It made it difficult for me to watch the backup camera. I still have the beeping.

The toad is not being measured by the multiplex system. Those lights are initiated I believe by relays that close the circuit when their corresponding tail lights are on.
If they were sensed by the bus system, every time you traded toads if the tail light loads were different (current draw) the system would see a “fault”.

On our HHR, we can have brakes lights, both turn signals, and running lights all operating AOK when hooked to the coach and doing the light check.
BUT … sometimes both right and left the hazard/four way flashers work fine and sometimes only the right works. Got a new Blue Ox cable, and it was fine. Then after a while its intermittent again.
So much of the car is computerized and the diodes put in as part Blue Ox system for the lights that I’m not going to try to figure it out.
We check all the various light functions when pulling a car or the race trailer.

Mark has a multiplex system Dick and it is a whole different animal compared to your system with all the conventional components like relays, circuit breakers, etc.

None of what anyone has said has mentioned the tail lights, which was part of the original question. The answer to the original question is still NO.
