Leaks, leaks, leaks!
Do leaks ever stop on a Prevost? And I’m not talking about the infamous air leaks that we all know. When we arrived in Driggs, we noticed a puddle of oil under the engine. On further investigation, we saw the oil come out of an orifice with an allen screw on the right side of the 12V oil-cooled alterrnator. Tried to loosen it so perhaps we could put some teflon on there, but it would only go aboout a quater turn before it got tight, so I tightened it up again.
Then this morning, found a puddle of coolant on the ground. Turned out to be a 1/4 inch drain valve. Tried to tighten it as well, but it was leaking from the threads. Got a plug to put in in it’s place, but the wrench deformed the brass on the nut, so though we’d leave it alone for now. It stopped as the air warmed up anyway, but have a pan underneath to catch any more drips for tomorrow morning.
Finally, unrelated to leaks, but even more frustrating, the Techlink display decided to croak. It was put in last year at Marathon GP. Without any display on tank info, etc., We are now planning to cut short our trip, and head back to Marathon in Coburg to fix. Hope to still have enough time to make the wedding in Colorado Springs.

We have owned our coach going on 7 years. There have been a few trips out and back with no issues whatsoever. Pure Heaven. It will get better. Not!

Sorry to hear Per,
We’ll be heading back a week from tomorrow as Marathon broke a piece of trim work when doing a repair, but will replace/paint for free.
Fortuantely, we’ve not experienced your leak issues with the coolant or oil, but I’m quit sure we could in the future, which is why we get inspections from Prevost, Marathon, or Jeff’s every six-month period.
Just curious, did you experience similar issues with your Country Coach?
The guy parked next to me at Marathon a week ago said he owned a Tiffin bus. He loved the Tiffin, but said he would never switch to another motorcoach after buyhing his Prevost, regardless of the upkeep.
Seems that sentiment runs true for most Prevost owners…

We never had any oil leaks on the Affinity. We had a cold weather coolant leak in wintertime Las Vegas on it many years ago, but that was it. -
Given the number of fittings for air and all kinds of liquids, the miles of electrical wire and associated terminals, fuses, circuit breakers, relays and switches, and the fact all of this is being shaken, bounced and exposed to a wide range of temperatures it amazes me we don’t have more problems.
