Proper belts tension
Hi all
Just got done with cleanup, paint and replacing the leaky seals on the Boston gearbox that runs the side fan.
Would appreciate some direction as to the proper belts tension on a 8v92.
I have a triple 3/A92 belt in one piece that keeps the gearbox and fan a bit tilted back( the belt seems a bit short ) an also got 3 belts A94 that bring the assembly more upright but it will be 3 belts instead of one triple.
What is the correct tension in lbs. to set them at with a mechanical (not pneumatic) tensioner?

You’re using A-92 and A94..finding minor differences short and long for fit.
Special attention to fan blade clearance inside the cowl. If you notice fan rub marks on the 6 o’clock cowl position …something needs attention.
All new belts break in with a little stretch. If you’re having some challenge ? Try a another belt manufacture.
Some manufactures offer match sets. Prevost offers separate numbers for match sets.
Match sets are cut from same roll, then package together.
