Drivers Side Window Fogging
Anyone know of a repair facility in florida to get this repaired instead of full replacement ? Anyone ever had this procedure done ?

Try SUNCOAST DESIGNERS 727 868 2773V. Or http://www.suncoastdesigners.com. I think they are in FLA. I NEVER USED THEM I THINK THEY MAYBE IN ST PETE AREA.

I am so tired of having the dual pane windows replaced by Prevost I am trying to figure a way to break out the inside pane and be done with the PITA that these windows are.

Supervise the removal and installation carefully to make sure you don’t end up with scratched paint or damage. I speak from experience.

From past experience I would AVOID Sun Coast Designers at all costs. The son and daughter run it now and they are not very quality aware nor do they care.

Had a previous coach their for window repair. They damaged the interior trim, glued one of the double pains crooked and couldn’t have cared one little bit about it. After a lengthily discussion they refunded a small amount.

Get you some 3/8” one piece safety glass replacements. Lookup Michael Moores house of rust. He sells them and bevels the edges and dose a wonderful job of packaging for shipment. Then have any auto glass company install them. FWIW, the two piece factory windows are only 1/16” thicker than the 3/8” one piece. I think he also sells a dual pane replacement.

Since it seems that almost every coach with much age on it has had these double-pan/thermo-pan windows leak and then fill of condensation on the inside of panes, I would have though by now that someone would have figured out a real, permanent solution.
But maybe there isn’t a permanent solution while continuing to maintain the double-pane configuration. I talked to a local glass guy who told me he could probably remove the glass, separate the panes, clean them, seal them, and reinstall them. Then he said, “Since its a motorhome and moves down the road, I would not guarantee the seal wouldn’t fail in the future. I recommend you replace the panes with a single pane. No seal to fail.”
I can understand why Prevost used double-pane glass … very close to the driver, extremely cold winter temps in Canada, trying to provide the driver and co-pilot with some relief from the cold.
So at the end of the day, I would think that finding someone who can remove the existing frames (without damaging the exterior, paint, or interior), install a single pane of safety glass), and then reinstall without damage to the exterior, paint, or interior) would have a pretty regular line of customers.
I’m looking for that someone. I’d rather not have someone experiment and education themselves on our coach.

Does the driver’s air conditioning vent blow on this window?

Dick, Call James Stallings at Xtreme Paint & Graphics in Nacogdoches, TX. He is a Prevost approved painter that can perform any kind of work on your bus. He is well experienced in crash repair, cosmetic repair, skin replacement, delam repair and polishing, painting, etc.
Prevost Dallas drives buses from Dallas to Nacogdoches for James to handle cosmetic repair and then picks them up to return to the owner at Dallas facility.
He will share what can be done about your window and answer any questions about how it will be done.

Les: Yes, kinda. The A/C vent is next to that that window. I usually have the vent pointed towards me. You got me thinking. Maybe a good reason for double-pane by Prevost is to reduce the condensation on the window from A/C as well as keeping the driver warm in very cold temperatures.

I had the fogging issue almost 30 years ago on our first coach and on the subsequent 2 coaches.
I fixed the first one myself on my 87, opened it up, cleaned it, applied a seal around the entire perimeter, but only made light contact, heated the entire assembly using a heat gun, then pressed it together to complete the seal.
As it cooled the air kind of had a reduced pressure and was relatively free of humidity. When it cooled and the sealer set, I ran another bead of sealer around the outer perimeter at the joint.
Then I reset the glass in the opening using sikaflex. It did not fog again. I do not remember what sealer I used between the two panes of glass, except it was black and on a roll with paper between the coils.
I did not fix the thermopane on the second coach, and the current coach is showing some condensation on one of the windows and I am not screwing with it. We can put men on the moon, we can create artificial intelligence, but we can’t seal two pieces of glass.

I have no idea what this means.

The only objection i have to a single thickness glass is condensation.
My toll windows are single thickness and they get covered when it is cold outside.
