  • Millenicom is no longer in business!

Posted by Ronald on October 21, 2014 at 10:31 pm

If you are a Millenicom customer and you have not heard about this yet, please be advised that Millenicom has closed its doors and your no contract, month to month account has been cancelled effective November 1.

All Millenicom customers have been transfered to Verizon, which has been providing the data service. However, so far, nobody has heard from them.

Calling Verizon about this is a waste of your time. Verizon customer service does not know anything about Millenicom. Several people have tried and got nowhere with it.

Here below is a link to an interesting article regarding this matter.

I just received a notification message on my Jetpack Millenicom/Verizon device. It says,

Free VZW msg. We want to discuss plan options for keeping your Verizon Wireless Service. Please call 800-233-8974 to avoid service disruption on 11/8.

That is the first thing I have received from Verizon on this. I have not called yet but I plan too.

Got thru, pretty painless, I have Verizon phone service, so they just combined all lines

And I went with 30 gigs, actually about$400 less than I was paying on the combined millincom and phone acts.

I have been on hold for 48 minutes. I am going to have to jump off and try later. I have AT&T for cell phone service so I am hoping they can let me just do internet on my Millinecom/Verizon Jetpack. I do not want to give up my unlimited data on my phone from AT&T.

I got the same notification on my jetpack. Just hung up after being on hold for 50 minutes! Wow. I’ll try again this afternoon.

    What’s a “jetpack”?

    Won’t happen.

AT&T will not let you add a tethered device to an unlimited data plan. They will make you pay $5 or $10 for the tethered device, AND make you switch to a limited (1GB, 2GB, etc.) plan.

I know, because I’d liked to have done the same…

    Bummer!

A Jetpack is one of the wifi devices that Millinicom used and Verizon uses.

I should have been more clear about AT&T. I do know that I can not change my AT&T unlimited. I plan on keeping it so I was saying that I will not switch to a Verizon phone in order use my Jetpack on a Verizon plan. I have not been able to get throught to a real person yet to find out if I can get a stand alone Verizon data plan.

    I’ve
been using the Jetpack for a couple years and it works very well. I
bought mine on Craigslist and then activated on Verizon. It’s
basically a personal wi-fi hotspot that works anytime there is cell
    service.
