  • NORMONT GAS SPRINGS

Posted by Rick on October 23, 2016 at 12:51 am

I have a weak awning window that won’t open and before I change the motor I thought I woud take a shot at changing out the gas spring. Its a Normont Gas spring. The website isn’t helpful. The number on the unit is NSE675A50PS180. Does anyone have experience changing the gas springs on their awning windows and if you did where did you get the replacement spring from.

Do you have the electric or air operated unit? Marathon changed from air to electric, just not sure what year change.. We have air operated and found the unit on ebay.

the windows are electric. I’ve changed the solenoid but the next thing is to change the motor. The window unlocks but doesn’t “pop” open. So I’m hoping that perhaps the pneumatic spring is bad. I just can’t seem to find a replacement.

I’ve noticed that if we have had rain or is very humid, that the windows are a little stuck. If I push on the bottom to give it a little help, it pops right open. Then, it’s fine until the next very humid day or rain.

And, it doesn’t always stick, longevity between openings also is a factor. The new rubber seems like a magnet.

Interesting, I had the awning windows on my 01 Liberty, but all motor controlled, no struts.

Are you saying yours has motor and struts Rick?

Mr. Truk is one of my best customers….the profits I made from the various Chilicote transactions help to pay for my first Prevost. To my knowledge Truk no longer posesses any of the motorized vehicles that I sold him (I think one of the vehicles was traded to an elderly used car dealer in Tennessee). However we heard that in addition to hawking batteries and tire pressure monitors, Mr.Truk is thinking about becoming a used car/bus/motorcycle dealer himself as he is rumored to have made copious amounts of money flipping used vehicles !!!!

Don’t listen to any of this dribble, they don’t call him Fast Ricky for nothing. I was actually setup 2 years in a row while staying at Pelican, little did I know that Fast Ricky brought several of his spent toys to FL for the purpose of pawning them off on some poor shmuck who actually believed they were only driven to church on Sunday.

So then I traded one off to his buddy in TN, they’re in cahoots you know, all these dealers have secret communications kind of like DC and I knew I was in trouble when I pulled into the car lot and was greeted with, “kin I hep ya.”

Count your fingers if you run into either of these guys….

If he isn’t going to be trading cars any more then there are two car dealers that are going to be claiming less income at tax time.

Flipping houses is the big leagues.
