did anyone go to the Jacksonville Sheriff Auction, or has anyone heard how it went.

That was Tom’s Marathon, he got caught using our dues money for elicit purposes. (A blue collar crime)
So all you folks been teasing Tom about his last coach , you were right, now he has to get another one.

Were you bidding on it?
Whatever happened to that Liberty the US Marshall’s Service had at auction that originally was owned by the municipal clerk in Dixon Illinois who embezzled $35 million? did that ever sell back into the market?

I heard that the Liberty the lady had from Dixon was bought by Liberty.
Larry was going to bid on the Marathon but figured it would go for around $400K so opted out…. I guess he just doesn’t like owning one bus !!! The bidding started at $179K and it is a really good looking 2004 H3-45 Marathon… interior was nice except for the couch fabrics which would have been an easy changeout.
I’m sure the buyer is happy !!

has gotten into some bad gumbo and the chrome cleaner he uses on his
chrome wheels is starting to get to him. His neighbor found him
curled up in the fetal position beside his drive axle with a smelly
rag in one hand and a bunch of craw-fish in the other repeating, “who
dat loves ya baby.” He also parks the bus on sunny days just
right so the reflection off his chrome wheels shines right into his
neighbors bedroom window damn near blinding the guy with the
binoculars looking at his butt crack. -

I’m all in favor of buying coaches inexpensively. The price the Marathon sold for does seem like a very good price, but I wonder how much inspection of the coach was permitted? I think even if the new owner has to spend a lot of money to make repairs it is likely he owns it cheap enough to make it right and flip it, or to enjoy it for a long time before its market value gets to what he has invested.

Here is what I was told. The day of the sale no one was alllowed in the coach. The front slide seal was shot, there was water damage inside, the front shades were full of mildew and I assume that all batteries and tires would need to be replaced.

I think your on the right track Bob. The DEA I’m sure took off every panel, tore apart every conceivable hiding spot and they sure wouldn’t of taken any care in putting it back together.

That puts the sale in an entirely different light.
If there was extensive mold and mildew the coach is totalled.

If anyone knows what the Marathon production, which probably numbering in 800 range, you call Marathon to see if they still support it. If not, then its been a salvage title. This causes them to strike it from the family tree

Does anyone know what kind of title is attached to the bus on a U.S. Marshal sale ?
I have heard about Marathon placing buses on no further support due to type of sales or suspect history of the bus.
Salvage title is a big red flag which always protects the seller and never the buyer.
